“You can’t heal if you keep pretending that you are not hurt.”
I read this quote the other day and it led me to the question, “where am I not being honest with myself?”
At any point in time we are hiding the truth from ourselves. Sometimes, it shows up in the form of denial – when we are not ready to admit +truly cannot see the damage we are inflecting on ourselves and other times, it shows up as trigger (strong reaction) to some news that isn’t that big of deal. But, it does show up in some way and you will know it when you feel it.
There are signs all around you, guiding you back to yourself, but we have to be WILLING to look outside and see these signs. They are trying to tell you something. For instance, to let you know to keep going even when you feel like giving up or telling you it is time to say good-bye to an old way of being and try something new.
How can the signs show up and guide us if we are not willing to admit that whatever is happening currently is NOT WORKING. We have to be able to say, I WANT MORE FOR MYSELF and then be willing to TAKE THOSE STEPS INTO THE UNKNOWN.
I have realized that I want more (BTW, more doesn’t mean more stuff, it means more PEACE, more HAPPINESS, more FREEDOM, more TRUTH). This is what I want and have some beliefs that continue to guide me forward:
1. I deserve it!
More love, more peace, more abundance.
2. I am capable and willing to do hard things in order to experience the love/peace/abundance I desire.
I can change my ways, learn new things, reach out for support, and get really honest about what is NOT working for me even if it is extremely uncomfortable or scary. With the right support (from myself + from others) I can move through it all.
3. I TRUST my intuition over my mind.
After years of meditating, coaching, therapy, I am at a place where I hear my negative thoughts and can decipher what needs to be left and what I can take with me. To be honest, most of it can be IGNORED. My monkey mind can be shouting at me about how stupid this is and what a mistake that was and I say, no thanks or more honestly F*** OFF.
If you relate to any of this – use these questions as a guide:
Where am I not being honest with myself?
What area of my life is asking for healing?
What are some dreams of mine that I have been ignoring?
What beliefs can I use to guide me forward? (Feel free to use mine above or write your own!)
After a week of amazing calls and connection with people over the world that related with my Tiny Buddha article, I realized how connected we all are. We are all on this path together.
Please don’t stay stuck because you think that you are alone or you are crazy for experiencing pain, confusion and for getting lost along your journey. If you create the opportunity for yourself to share with one person, (coach, therapist, friend) you shine a light and give yourself the gift of healing.
Feel free to reach out to me and I can hold space with my skill of deep, soulful listening.
With love and endless possibilities,
Orly
